Our story
The cloud so many people remembered. Thoughtfully redesigned for a new generation.
Some products become part of people's lives. MY-KU-MO was one of them.
Between 2013 and 2016, the little smiling cloud quietly found its way into bedrooms, college dorms, apartments, reading corners and collections. Long after it disappeared from stores, people continued searching for it.
They remembered the smile, the soft squishy feeling and how something so simple could brighten a room. We were some of those people, too.
The cloud is back
Six colors. One familiar smile.
More than another pillow
People were not searching for a replacement. They were searching for their MY-KU-MO.
Old photographs, community discussions, resale listings and years of questions all told the same story: the original MY-KU-MO smiley face pillow had become a genuine comfort object. It was remembered not because it shouted for attention, but because it quietly became part of everyday life.

A familiar cloud gets a second chapter.
The search continued
Even after the pillow disappeared from retail shelves, people kept searching its name, sharing old photos and looking through resale marketplaces for the cloud they remembered.
A new opportunity
The MY-KU-MO trademark lapsed. We later acquired and registered it, creating the opportunity to bring the original smile back with the care the brand deserved.
The cloud returns
The familiar personality remains, now supported by a removable washable cover, improved materials, refined embroidery, additional loft and stronger six-sided construction.

Why we brought MY-KU-MO back
We missed it, too.
As fans ourselves, we understood that people were not asking for a generic smiling pillow. They wanted the shape, expression and personality that made MY-KU-MO feel unmistakably like itself.
The goal was never to replace the original with something completely different. The goal was to preserve the emotional connection while correcting the parts that could be made softer, cleaner, stronger and easier to live with.

Designed with the community
Years of feedback shaped MY-KU-MO 2.0.
The redesigned MY-KU-MO smiley face pillow incorporates the issues and requests people repeatedly raised about the original. The cover can now be removed and washed. The face is embroidered instead of printed. The materials are softer, the construction is more refined and the body has approximately two additional inches of loft.
Those upgrades make MY-KU-MO better suited to modern bedrooms, college dorm rooms, cozy reading spaces and everyday use without turning it into a different character.

Every update was selected to make the nostalgic cloud pillow easier to wash, softer to cuddle and better suited to everyday life.
Removable washable cover
A hidden zipper allows the exterior Cloud Case to be removed for easier care and machine washing.
Bamboo-viscose softness
The premium cover uses 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex for a smooth, stretchy and ultra-soft finish.
Certified fiber fill
The polyester fiber fill is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, Product Class I.
Additional loft
Approximately two additional inches of loft create a slightly fuller silhouette while preserving the relaxed squishy feel.
Embroidered expression
The smile and facial details are stitched rather than printed so the character can better withstand regular care.
Six-sided construction
Improved panel construction supports the recognizable box-shaped cloud silhouette and gives the pillow a more refined finish.
A softer exterior
A washable Cloud Case made for real life.
The original MY-KU-MO used a fixed exterior. MY-KU-MO 2.0 introduces a removable Cloud Case made from 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex.
The fabric is soft, smooth and flexible enough to move with the pillow's relaxed shape. When the cover needs refreshing, it can be removed without replacing the entire pillow.

What we refused to change

These are the qualities that made MY-KU-MO memorable. They were protected throughout the redesign because improvement should not erase the emotional details people loved in the first place.
Why there are six colors
Six ways to make the same cloud yours.
White, Blue, Grey, Pink, Green and Purple share the same smile, construction, materials and soft MY-KU-MO personality. Only the color changes.
The expanded collection makes it easier to match a bedroom, college dorm, reading nook, gift recipient or growing MY-KU-MO collection without changing the character itself.
